📢 JAMB ADVISORY ON PROCESSING OF DEGREE ADMISSION FOR AFFILIATED INSTITUTIONS BY EDUCATION INFORMATION SOCIETY OF NIGERIA JOINT ADMISSIONS AND MATRICULATION BOARD (JAMB) OFFICE OF THE REGISTRAR REFERENCE NO: 2025ff05 DATE: 22ND AUGUST, 2025 JAMB has issued an advisory regarding the processing of degree admissions for affiliated institutions in Nigeria. According to the Board, universities were earlier directed in 2022 to fully take responsibility for admissions into degree programmes run by their affiliated institutions. However, the implementation was delayed due to concerns raised about the previous admission processing structure. Following meetings with institutions on matriculation guideline violations, JAMB resolved that mother institutions must now oversee and coordinate admissions for all affiliated institutions. UPDATED ADMISSION PROCESS FOR AFFILIATED INSTITUTIONS 1️⃣ The Head of the affiliated institution logs into the JAMB CAPS portal and downloads candidates for each programme. 2️⃣ The affiliated institution sets admission criteria for programmes, including: • UTME minimum scores • Post-UTME requirements • Aggregate scores • Catchment considerations • ELDS criteria 3️⃣ The affiliated institution proposes qualified candidates on CAPS and forwards them to the mother institution. 4️⃣ The mother institution reviews the recommendations on CAPS and either: • Recommends candidates to the JAMB Registrar for approval, or • Rejects the recommendation with reasons. 5️⃣ The Registrar of JAMB (or representative) approves or rejects the recommendations submitted by the mother institution. 6️⃣ If approved, candidates will receive notifications through email and SMS to either accept or reject the admission offer. 7️⃣ Candidates who accept the admission offer can print their admission letters and access other admission services online. 🎓 EDUCATION INFORMATION SOCIETY OF NIGERIA “Education is Power”
