FG Approves Major Reforms for NYSC
FG Approves Major Reforms for NYSC The Federal Government has approved far-reaching reforms to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) aimed at strengthening the scheme and equipping corps members with practical skills for the future. Key Proposed Reforms ✅ Orientation camp will be extended from 3 weeks to 6 weeks. ✅ A new NYSC uniform will be introduced. ✅ The traditional Passing-Out Parade (POP) will be replaced with a Graduation Ceremony. ✅ A technology-driven call-up system will be introduced to make mobilization more efficient. ✅ Corps members will be deployed based on security risk assessments to enhance their safety. ✅ The six-week orientation programme will place greater emphasis on entrepreneurship, leadership, digital skills, and career development. ✅ Primary Place of Assignment (PPA) postings will be aligned with corps members' academic qualifications and professional skills. ✅ Orientation camp facilities and operations will be upgraded through a national grading and certification system. Important Notice: These reforms have been approved by the Federal Executive Council (FEC).
