FG Announces Major Secondary School Reform, Plans to Scrap JSS/SSS Policy
The Federal Government has announced plans to abolish the policy that separates the administration of Junior Secondary Schools (JSS) and Senior Secondary Schools (SSS), stating that the current system has not significantly improved learning outcomes and has created challenges for students transitioning to senior secondary education.
The Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Olatunji Alausa, also disclosed that the Federal Government is accelerating the completion and full operation of Smart Schools, Bilingual Schools, and Alternative Schools across the country. According to the Minister, all such schools are expected to be completed and operational before the end of the year.
These reforms are aimed at improving access to quality education, enhancing learning outcomes, and strengthening Nigeria's education system.
