PHONE TRACKING & SIM TECHNOLOGY GAP
Investigators intercepted phone calls made during and after the school raid.
Conversations exposed how local informants gave the bandits step-by-step directions to navigate the Old Oyo National Park and evade military borders.
Despite Nigeria's NIN-SIM linkage policy, bandits reportedly use specialized call-routing technology and portable network-masking devices to bounce calls across multiple remote cell towers, making their exact location and identity difficult to trace.
BANKS AND ACCOUNTS INVOLVED
Wema Bank
Security reports indicate that ransom payments and digital extortion funds linked to the tracking of Adeleye Ayomide were routed into a Wema Bank account.
Funds were also transferred to the bank accounts of:
Adewuyi Sunday
Ayanwola Gbenga
Rafiu Abdulmajeed
These accounts allegedly served as temporary holding points to distribute cash to forest-based bandits.
SECURITY UPDATE
The Central Bank of Nigeria and anti-graft agencies have reportedly frozen flagged account numbers associated with the suspects to trace further fund movements.
Security agencies continue operations to locate and apprehend the principal suspects behind the school abduction.
